Cargo from the Caribbean and
South America keep Miami
International Airport and
The port of Miami bustling
with business. Miami is THE
major entry for goods
imported from these areas.
The Port of Miami is in
itself a large employer and
is the largest container
port in the South. Because
of the imports from South
America, the port is often
referred to as The Cargo
Gateway of The Americas.
The port of Miami is also
called the Cruise Capital of
The World. This of course
is because of the proximity
of Miami to the Caribbean
Islands and the size of the
port.
Miami Beach and the city of
Miami are a very popular
destination for business conventions
and meetings. The
Miami area is well suited
for business because of the
location, wonderful climate
and the ability to provide
business accommodations.
There is also plenty of
entertainment for clients
and convention attendees.
There are
plenty of choices in
facilities to hold meetings
or conventions. Many hotels have
convention facilities in
their buildings and you have the
Miami Convention Center
along with the Miami Beach
Convention Center.
Miami is also an industrial
center with businesses as
diverse as software
companies, warehousing
goods, telemarketing, and
stone quarrying. Miami is
also the home of the National
Hurricane Center and is the
headquarters for the US
Southern Command (military
for operations in South
America) as well as DEA and
Coast Guard headquarters, a
large Customs operation...
just to mention a few of the
Governmental businesses.
