The Miami and Miami Beach cities are both famous for their entertaining and sometimes downright wild and hot nightlife. We have listed some of the more popular clubs, restaurants and lounges in the Miami and Beach area. Of Course a stroll down Washington street in South Beach will give you a good idea of what's happening there. Remember you should plan ahead if you want to get into one of the hottest clubs, during your Miami vacation, and especially during season (October- March). This unique club serves scrumptious food with a twist. You are served in, as the name implies, bed. Yes in bed, on an oval tray, excellent food prepared by Chef Vitor Casassola. After dinner hang out as the music heats up and the party continues till daybreak. Reservations are required.

A SoBe original, Bash started the South Beach club scene in 1993.  In the past a party spot for many celebrities, Bash still serves it up with Euro-Latin music to a mixed crowd of internationals and clubkids with some older patrons.

Bongo's Cuban Cafe

This 2 story restaurant/lounge provides a glorious view of Biscayne Bay, the port of Miami, and downtown Miami. But the real treat is fabulous Cuban cuisine offered here along with the ambience of old Havana.

Metropolis Miami

This downtown Miami club can serve alcohol 24 hrs and is the largest club in the nation with a world renowned sound system. There are actually 5 clubs in 1 here:

  • Amazonia- Jungle beats, deep trance (o yeah!), and Brazilian beats.
  • Azúcar- Spanish rock and house music in a room designed like a library.
  • Prophecy- The largest room with a fantastic sound system and light show to compliment the hottest DJ's.
  • Nile- VIP lounge made to look like a Pharaoh's temple. Party here with the elite.
  • Shelter- Hip-Hop is what you get served here in a decor of graffiti and chain linked fences.

1 Ocean drive places Nikki Beach at the most southern tip of SoBe on the beach. A collection of Tepee's with bamboo lounge chairs and natural lighting (sun and stars). Beautiful mood music with great cuisine in a natural setting makes for what is call "The Sexiest Place on Earth".

Opium Garden & Privé

Opium Garden is a 2 level nightclub that is a virtual feast for the senses.  The club has several dance floors with music ranging from Hip-Hop to House music. The latest and greatest in sound and visual systems round out the ambience of this plush club.

Privé - This is the VIP area of Opium garden and assuming you could get in you would probably run into famous people.

Pearl

For style and ambience Pearl cannot be outdone.  The decor and location (above Nikki Beach) cannot be matched.  The walls are fur lined and an orange hued lighting is used to create a retro but chic atmosphere.  The cuisine is great but Champagne is the specialty here.  Not to mention the ocean view veranda and the celebs and A-list models that frequent Pearl.  It is best to get on a guest list because not just anyone is allowed entry and dress accordingly.

Playwright Irish Pub

This is truly one of the few Irish Pubs in Miami.  With everything Irish the decor was partially imported from Ireland.  They also serve classic Irish food such as shepherd's pie and fish and chips.  Multiple television sets are present for your viewing pleasure and sporting events.

Purdy Lounge

This neighborhood bar offers pool tables and the occasional live music venues of DJs or bands.  The lounge has a loyal customer base and the drinks are good and inexpensive.  Decor is lava lamps, couches and hand shaped plastic chairs.  Definitely a retreat from the usual SoBe scene.

Rose Bar @ Delano Hotel

The Rose is located in the Delano Hotel which is a must see in itself.  The Rose Bar caters to a sophisticated crowd of celebs and politicians.  You will pick up on the Alice in Wonderland theme when you sit in the bar with it's rose colored upholstered walls, floor to ceiling white drape and large over stuffed furniture.  I hear they make a mean martini!

Miami Beach's most exclusive hotel and bar entrance here is not granted to just anyone. But if you do get in you will find the back of the hotel turned into several areas.  For instance, a indoor red room with Hip-Hop, the Rum bar by the pool, or the Moroccan garden area.

One of Miami's most popular dining establishments.  Tantra feature a decor of Middle Eastern style with live grass flooring, a waterfall, music for the senses and an aphrodisiac cuisine.  Tantra is based on ancient Indian philosophy and the word means to channel energy in creative and emancipatory ways. This is done through the stimulation of the senses.  A DJ booth of mahogany with state of the art sound system and the restaurants lounge area has a fiber optic starscape.  The famous VIP area is filled with plush couches and an overhead hammock with pillows. This truly sensual dining experience is relatively inexpensive with entrees beginning at $30.00.  Reservations recommended.

The Forge

This is a LGBT club catering to Hip-Hop, Latin and R&B music lovers.  Formerly located in Philadelphia this club promises to fill the void for minority club goers. Do not get me wrong, you do not have to be a minority to go here, in fact the 1st Saturday night of opening saw more White and Hispanic customers! Owner AJ Cross is donating 12% of the club's annual revenue to grants for minority gay artists.

Bongo's

This club includes a Cuban Café with authentic Cuban cuisine. Owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Bongo's throws the occasional LGBT party.
